Columbus Events Feb 10 – 17

This was a stranger's plate at the Sweet Treats event; I don't have enough self control to collect this many before eating them

This was a stranger’s plate at the Sweet Treats event; I don’t have the self control to collect this many before devouring them.

Hello! Tonight I attended Columbus Underground’s Sweet Treats event, and I cannot emphasize enough how happy it makes me to eat a multitude of desserts from my the best bakeries and restaurants in Columbus.  My favorite desserts from the evening were: the florentines from Laughlins Bakery, the bacon brownie and bourbon ball from 1803 Bacon, and the taro cupcake from Red Velvet Café.  This event appears to be annual – keep an eye out in 2017!

This coming weekend, Sam and I are avoiding the Valentines Day crowds and cooking some fun meals at home.  If you’re looking for some easy, delicious recipes for the weekend, try these two that we love: Foodess’s Tandoori Chicken and Serious Eats’ Pork Tenderloin with Bourbon-Soaked Figs.

I mentioned last week that I’m winding down my events blog/email, and I have been so touched by the messages I’ve received in response.  Thanks for taking the time to reach out!
